Helping professions in Native Communities are all too aware of historical, intergenerational, and secondary traumas impacting our communities, but are often left untreated. As people in the helping professions, we often help others with their trauma but are too tired or busy to help ourselves. We are passionate about our work, but sometimes we let it fizzle due to fatigue, burn out or the constant battling with the industry, the community or the challenges that we fight to overcome to keep our communities healthy. That ever important change that our community needs begins with us.
In this course learn how to create avenues of peace for yourself and those around you while renewing the passion for the work that you do. Learn to live in an atmosphere of celebration, gratitude and motivation. Invite others that you work with to create positive protective factors for yourself and your community. Learn why neuroplasticity is important and how it can help you better your life and understand trauma, addiction, and opposition. Engage your clients with new eyes after learning more about trauma, its impacts, and how we can begin to build resiliency in our communities. 1. Discover the importance and how to get your mind and heart to work together 2. Use the strategic prevention framework to build your skills in your personal and professional life to not just survive but thrive 3. Be refreshed and renewed about the impact that you can have when walking in wellness.
