Community Safety & Emergency Services

The Community Safety and Emergency Services Department (CSES) has several functions within the integration of care services at CRNA.

CSES provides Emergency Ambulance Interfacility Transport services, Emergency DETOX transports, Ethics Point Incident reporting system response, and Corporate Compliance program management.

The CSES director also provides oversight for the Village Public Safety officer (VPSO) program. The VPSO program provides emergency services to seven (7) communities in the Ahtna Region, (Chitina, Kluti-Kaah, Tazlina, Gulkana, Gakona, Chistochina, and Mentasta).

These VPSO’s provide Emergency Medical Services, Fire protection, Search and Rescue coordination, Probation and Parole monitoring, and Law Enforcement services including criminal investigations, to all residents of our communities.

CRNA also provides through the VPSO program, Public Safety education classes such as Hunter information and Training, Water and Boating Safety, Drug recognition and education, Active shooter response, and more upon request.
