Behavioral Health Department
CRNA makes behavioral health services available to Alaska Native and all non-Native residents and seasonal workers of the Copper River Basin in accordance with clinically assessed need and funding. Staff works cooperatively with local agencies and government to provide a continuum of mental health and substance abuse care services for the community. Through an alliance with individual clients, CRNA is commented to providing critical emotional and behavioral health services that contribute to improved functioning and quality of life.
The CRNA facilities are strategically located in villages throughout the entire Copper River Basin and even as far northwest as Cantwell and, for a few of the grants, as far south as Valdez and Cordova. Geographically, CRNA catchment area is by far one of the largest regions within the State, but still has the designation as being under served with programs. Roughly of the Behavioral Health Services Department staff is Alaska Native and many are bilingual with the speaking of the Ahtna language of the region as well as English. No other agency throughout the state can match the cultural competency of CRNA.
